a écrit le 6 août 2018 à 15:09 Amazing 16th century experience. To say that La Maison Bakea house is BnB is not quiet true. It is more of a gem situated in a time warp from the 15th century. It is the only guest house in Cordes sur Ciel and the Tarn area to offer Haute Epoque furnishing and Renaissance medieval atmosphere, with all modern comforts. My stay was incredible, the whole place seems to be more of a medieval castle with furnishings in the entire house with real antiques from the 15-16th century. The lovely couple who owns and run the place went out of their way to make sure my stay was exquisite. Picture sitting on an outside terrace overlooking incredible views of the countryside from the top of the city, locally produced food, cheeses, hams and yogurts on the breakfast table while listening to a classical music in the background. What a way to start a day! The "living room" on the second floor gives the impression of a castle with a huge, to the ceiling fireplace, body of amour, medieval weapons and beautiful furniture dating to the 16th century. All of this real, no fakes. Simply incredible. I travel fairly frequently to all parts of the world for the past 30 years and this is my first review. Wholeheartedly recommend, you will not be disappointed

La amabilidad de la anfitriona Marie , que te hace sentirte en casa y hace esfuerzos por aconsejarte lo mejor de cada sitio. La casa esta muy bien decorada , limpia y tranquila . El desayuno , tiene bastante calidad en los productos ofrecidos , (queso, repostería …)

The house was stunning. The furniture, the music, the ambiance. Excellent location, right outside of the old town. Fantastic service, the room was huge and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was super complete and delicious, lots of options. I loved the place. I liked it all!

Maison absolument magnifique! Superbe accueille avec l'histoire du lieu en prime! Une myriade d'anecdotes toutes plus intéressante les unes que les autres. La chambre est très spacieuse, une propreté irréprochable, des prestations de qualité. Des produits faits maison pour le petit déjeuné (confitures, gâteaux,...). La propriétaire (très intéressante) est de très bons conseils tant pour les lieux à visiter que les restaurants ou les producteurs. Ça nous change de Pau! J'en garderais un excellent souvenir! Un pur plaisir... à y retourner volontiers 🙂

Un havre de paix hors du temps
Un accueil très chaleureux qui vous fait sentir immédiatement comme chez vous, une maison magnifique avec des meubles d’époque au cœur de Cordes, un petit déjeuner avec des croissants et de la confiture faits maison...bref un moment hors du temps qui vous ressource en une nuit passée au calme! Un grand merci aux hôtes adorables et aux petits soins, on reviendra !!

Une véritable parenthèse dans le temps
Marie et Gilles, deux propriétaires passionnés, nous accueillent chaleureusement dans leur paisible demeure pour une excursion hors du temps. Chaque pièce est décorée avec goût et dans le style. Le petit déjeuner fait maison par Marie et avec des produits d'exception et achetés le matin même par Gilles sur le marché est divin. Les échanges avec les propriétaires sont riches. Nous recommandons vivement ce lieu.

Marie was extremely friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to answer our questions, make recommendations, and ensure that our stay was the best it could be, and it was. Our room was meticulously clean, beautifully decorated and spacious, with high ceiling. The house also has a terasse where you can enjoy with an evening drink. We were able to walk everywhere. There is also a free parking space in front of the building. We are grateful to Marie who made our stay more memorable. If we are fortunate enough to visit Cordes Sur Ciel we will definitely stay in this medieval place Mason Bakea!
We just love everything!

As others have said, and we agree, Maison Bakea is a truly authentic, medieval building which is just stunning throughout. Restored sympathetically and in keeping with the period. The Property owner, Marie - again, as others have said - was the most perfect welcoming, gracious and kind Host. We were made to feel totally at home in her home. We would very much like to return.

This property is a lovingly restored 13th century house - restored in detail by a master craftsman to the 14th century. It is furnished with 14th to 17th century antique furniture. Our room and bath were extremely comfortable; the owner was most accommodating. The town of Codes sur Ciel is a medieval gem, and Bakea is only a short walk from the center. We look forward to returning!

J'ai offert ce séjour à ma femme pour fêter nos 20 ans de mariage. Nous n'avons pas été déçu, bien au contraire. Une maison magnifique avec ces vitraux, ces boiseries et toute son histoire racontée par la propriétaire dès l'accueil. Nous avons passé un excellent week-end et ne pouvons que recommander cette adresse

EVERYTHING! The Maison Bakea is unique and exquisitely beautiful in all its details. The old medieval house is amazing! My room was lovely, so comfortable. The hosts are the best -- kind, courteous, and helpful at all times. Delicious breakfast is served each morning with a beautiful view. I hope to return again and bring a friend or friends with me, too!

Une maison somptueuse par la rénovation du bâti et par la décoration. Accueil plus que chaleureux, chambre de standing, croissants et petit déjeuner fait maison, un accès très facile au village. Des hôtes au petit soin. Cela vaut tous les grands établissement étoilés. A réserver les yeux fermés!

a écrit le 26 juin 2018 à 16:14 A Medieval Fantasy in Cordes sur Ciel Cordes sur Ciel is one of the classic, medieval hill-top bastides in the Tarn region, and true to its name often floats beneath the sky above the morning mists in the valley creating a medieval fantasy world. Completing the medieval fantasy is the Maison Bakea set in a one of a kind thirteenth century mansion set around a courtyard. The ancient building has been completely restored and furnished with antiques, most of them over two hundred years old arranged with a designer's eye. The dining and sitting room is presided over by "Charlie", a suit of armor from Spain, whom the owners were allowed to purchase only on condition that he continued to be called by his proper name in his new home in France. Each of the several bedrooms I saw was different, with unique period furnishings and modern bath facilities. Mine included a 300 year old bedstead fitted with a comfortable, modern mattress. Meals were served on the patio with a view of the valley below when the weather was good, or in the dining room under Charlie's protection when it was inclement. Marie and Gilles were wonderful hosts and obviously take great pride in their grand, old house, and the excellent meals they serve. During my trip to the Midi this spring I was privileged to stay in half a dozen other traditional inns, each of which was unique and wonderful in its own right, but the Maison Bakea topped them all.
